Different type of motor swap question...
My 89 DX has well over 200k. I don't care for power here. Just something easy. Easy as in staying DPFI too.
So I'm wondering if I can just swap out the D15B longblock with a D16Y7, but use the full intake manifold, distributor, and ECU from the 89 DX.... so I'm not having to go VTEC, OBD2 & MPFI.
When I had a 89 CRX Si, I had to swap motors. So I just got a bare DOHC ZC longblock and used the rest on my Si parts and it ran perfect.
Thanks guys.

redcivicstandard isn't listed anymore. civic_std had one, no real info though.
mike84 CRX-GTL had a similar post, but already had MPFI on his Si, of course.

ok, so what do you want to know?
The timing belt covers were a pain. I never got the little flywheel cover under the engine from either engine to bolt up (I didnt try too hard, though). The left engine bracket was tilted forward more than with the d15 so I had to shim the mount to make it not rub on the chassis. Other than that it was straightforward.
