post a6 in b2 cam results
Well a while back i did the mpfi swap along with I/H/E on my 91 civic cx.
Yesterday I finally got around to putting the d16a6 cam in.
Its just that now theres A LOT of valvetrain noise after warming up and a little on startup.
The time before I adjusted the valves from when I shut the car off(when it still had the b2 cam in)..was about 35 minutes. I adjusted the intake valve clearance with a feeler guage at .009'' and the exhaust at 0.011'' Directly after completing everything I started it up and everything sounded fine, good idle, no valvetrain ticking at all.
Could it be that I need the engine off for a bit such as an hour or so to be positive all of the valvetrain is cold or could it be a little more to this.

You said that the last time you adjusted the valves was with the b2 cam in it? If this is the case, you need to readjust the valves once you put in the a6 cam. The adjustment specs are the same I think, but since it uses different timing and has bigger lobes and whatnot you have to redo it. Make sure that sucker's cold too.
Good luck.
Good luck.
lol..sorry i clearly cannot word things anymore to make sense. I would have to shoot myself right now if I actually thought that after putting a different cam in there was no need to adjust the valves.
I meant that the time before i adjusted the valves as in when it still had the b2 cam in it and I pulled the car in and shut the engine off to begin the new cam install was a total of 35 minutes. Which i should have known better that an engine at operating temp then going into a 25*c garage was still WAYYY too hot for any accurate valve adjustments. Thanks for your replys though as I gave it about 3 hours in the cold to cool off and I readjusted. There is still some noise but nowhere near what it was before. Similar to when i had the old cam in but a little louder ticking as you increase the rpm's. Then again its a combination of things and it does sound relatively normal now.
