need help......did brake install, questions!
ok guys,
I just did my brake install (Rotors, pads) on my 2k Si (4 wheel disc)
i compressed the piston all the way (i think), now i can hear the rotor on the pad, my guess is that since they are both brand new they just need to get "Aquainted to each other" and wear a little. secondly my pedal is really squishy, i just pumped my brakes for a second or two and took a quick lap around my block and they were soft as hell and didnt have much braking power. some friends said i need to just sit and pump till they back to normal, im kinda nervous i did the install wrong.
also from a neutral coast, i am not coasting like i used to since the pads are on the rotors its slowing me down quite a bit, again i think i need to get a few miles on them to wear them down. please give me some feedback, im nervous!
tim

but to fix your problem i would bleed your brake lines to get it just right.. i think i need to bleed mine also after installing crossed drill rotors and pads about 3 weeks ago.. the feel squishy and bleeding them will usally fix it..

yes, i installed Crossdrilled/slotted Brembos and Hawk HP+ pads
Did you properly follow the break in procedure for your pads? This is VERY critical that you bed them correctly.

update:
didnt have time to even break them in, i went 20 miles and i knew something wasnt right. i never got on them hard, downshifted everygear.
problem found:
Siezed caliper pin, dry as an 70 year old bitch, had to pull it out, grease it up and put it back. hopefully this will do the trick.
Could i have warped my rotor with only 20 miles of BABY LIKE DRIVING, never getting on the brakes at all practically?
