Default need help......did brake install, questions!

ok guys,
I just did my brake install (Rotors, pads) on my 2k Si (4 wheel disc)

i compressed the piston all the way (i think), now i can hear the rotor on the pad, my guess is that since they are both brand new they just need to get "Aquainted to each other" and wear a little. secondly my pedal is really squishy, i just pumped my brakes for a second or two and took a quick lap around my block and they were soft as hell and didnt have much braking power. some friends said i need to just sit and pump till they back to normal, im kinda nervous i did the install wrong.

also from a neutral coast, i am not coasting like i used to since the pads are on the rotors its slowing me down quite a bit, again i think i need to get a few miles on them to wear them down. please give me some feedback, im nervous!
tim

the squishy pedal feel is from you most likely having air in the system still, bleed your brakes and it should go away

bleed your brakes....if the pads are dragging you may need to bleed the MC as well....

just wondering, but unless you upgraded to slotted or cross drilled rotors, why did you change your rotors on a 2000 SI, those rotor and pads should still have plenty of miles left on them..

but to fix your problem i would bleed your brake lines to get it just right.. i think i need to bleed mine also after installing crossed drill rotors and pads about 3 weeks ago.. the feel squishy and bleeding them will usally fix it..

You shoudl bleed your brakes. Get some good fluid, i recommend ATE superblue. You don't need to remove your cap when compression the piston.

Did you properly follow the break in procedure for your pads? This is VERY critical that you bed them correctly.

update:
didnt have time to even break them in, i went 20 miles and i knew something wasnt right. i never got on them hard, downshifted everygear.

problem found:

Siezed caliper pin, dry as an 70 year old bitch, had to pull it out, grease it up and put it back. hopefully this will do the trick.

Could i have warped my rotor with only 20 miles of BABY LIKE DRIVING, never getting on the brakes at all practically?
