yeah it was my first time doing it. took me about 8 hours. the exhaust took longer cuz i had to get rid of all the carbon buildup. i didn't get the head back on yet, i'm waiting for a valve spring compressor from snapon. i don't know how well i'll notice the gains since i'm putting ITR cams in at the same time. but i do plan on getting to a dyno as soon as i can. i'll post it up when i get it.
ohh and the blue stuff is called blue dye. its what machinist use to layout metal. i put that on and then stuck the intake manifold gasket up to it and scribed a line around the gasket so i knew how much material to take off to port match it.

dang that sounded pretty perverted didnt it

Looks nice, though. I should get my head polished.
well if i wanted my head ported i think i would of sent it out but i only polished it up and took off the casting flash on the sides, so no need to flow test it if i'm not hogging it out, i wanted to keep all the low end power i can.
here is what i did. first i read this: http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm
then i bught the headporting kit from standard abrasives and then i bought an air grinder from sears. cost about 50 for the kit and 70 for the grinder.

well i just read over the directions and practiced on a different head i had. then i just used 40 grit to take off the black **** and to remove the casting flash, then went to 80 grit to smooth it out, then the kit comes with this little pad of scotch brite that fits on the air grinder to polish it up.
