speedometer problem for '95 Accord
having an intermittent problem with the speedometer gauge getting stuck around the 20mph range.. other times it works flawlessly..
the service manual references a p3 electrical device that regulates the speedometer but dont know where to look for it, is it under the hood? under the dash? or somewhere in the steering column?
appreciate any advice..

I've heard that one of the common problems with our generation of accords (..i have a 97 btw) is that the speedomet starts to mess up... that is caused by the speed sensor.
Do a research on that or wait until someone can help you better!!!

you're welcome!!!
And like I said... A lot of people have had problems with speed sensors here at H-T.... and if that is the real problem in this case, do a little shopping before you buy the first one you see in front of you.
I know ebaymotors.com has speed sensors for accords... and for being at ebay... should be at a fair price!

The P3 device they are referring to is the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor).
It can cause either a calibration problem or keep the speedometer from working, but it is usually accompanied by a "Check Engine" lamp being lit (and the associated DTC code being set).
Your problem is cluster related. Have any Indiglo Gauge faces installed? (They've been responsible for two such complaints in the past - needle was hitting the overlay). It sounds like the needle's binding in that position.
