Whats wrong with my bike? Need opinions
Yea so its been like 60's the past few days so ive had the bike out once in a while.
I didnt ride really at all this whole winter. However, i started the bike up atleast once every 2 weeks and let it run to keep things fresh. It ALWAYS started on the 1st try this whole winter.
Fast forward to today. I go to the hardware store to pick up some stuff, im in there 5minutes. I come back. COMPLETELY dead. I mean the headlights and guages worked but all it did was click. Might have tried to turn over once then just completely dead solid clicks. And this was after riding for like 45minutes too.
Luckily i was literally 1block from my friends shop and he walked down with a jump starter and it started right up. Ive been going out to the garage every few hours and its starting fine now.
Any idea what happened? Bad battery? I REALLY dont want to mess around with the battery because next time it happens i could be in the mountains with no friends to jump start me.
thnkx guys

You might consider pulling the battery out and taking it to autozone/checker to have them run a battery test on it...
It sounds like it's working fine now, which could be an indication of an electrical problem... eg: poor/loose battery connection, other loose connection (kill switch?), or a problem with the alternator?
However, that's just my best logical guess, I've done only a few Minor repairs on my bike.
Other than that, I highly recommend the AAA Plus membership (they tow bikes).

charge the batt. starting the bike every week and letting it run isn't enough time usually for the biek the charge the battery
I had a similar situation happen to me.
Get a good charge on it and you should be fine. Riding around for an hour or so will not charge it near enough.....from what I've found, bike's charging systems are pretty crummy. You can pick up a charger from walmart for like $15 or $20 - one of the best investments I've made.
**edit** Also check your connections at the battery. Mine seemed fine but turned out they were barely loose and was the cause of some electrical gremlins I was chasing.

take the battery to be tested. i had the exact same thing happen to me, and it turned out i didn't keep the battery charged up enough over the winter time so it eventually went bad.
