Default Drive shaft issue

im havin some driveshaft issue, on the left side of the car. i got it to go into the intermediate shaft, but then after i reinstalled everything, i looked again and it looks like it popped out of the inter. shaft. its not completely popped out, so heres my question....is it suppose to go all the way inside, or is it suppose to stick out of it? ill try to take a pic if i can...hopefully u guys get what i mean...lol..

I believe that needs to go in further. make sure you put some l00b on the splines to prevent it from corroding and it will slide on/off easier.

Agree that it need to go further in. Did you compare the length of the old axle to the new axle? Some people have complained about some remanufactured axles not being the correct length.

So i took the shaft and half shaft out, and as you can see in this pic below, where the screwdriver is pointin, thats the space im talking about. Theres no way that i can push it further into the half shaft, and i can barely get it out of there, so im guessing that it must be right, with that space in between, but id like some confirmation from a couple ppl from here, that its alright!

From what I remember, it looks right to me.

Try and stick the axle in the hub. If it fits, you're good to go. If it won't go in, push harder on that axle!

the second picture you showed looks better. the first one is deceiving because of the shadow.

I havent changed an axle in awhile so I dont remember exactly how it looks, but that second pic you posted doesnt appear that it can go any further.

I've been thinking the same thing you have about the spacing between the halfshaft and dr. side axle. After I swapped it in, the inboard shaft of the axle wore out prematurely. I have no clue if it was due to the rebuild or the spacing between the axle and half shaft. But now, the inboard shaft can be wiggled by hand...
