Default Clutch question

I have a 1991 Honda Civic Hatch. It is the lowest model really! It has the 4 speed manual. My question is that when I change gears, it seems as though it is extremely sensitive and the engagement point is "high". I was thinking that the clutch may be bad. But I would like to have some opinions on what could be wrong. Is it the clutch? Is it something else? I am trying to sell this thing but the clutch issue is what I get asked about the most. Please help.

Thanks

Jon

Try loosening it, mess around with it.

Are you noticing any slipping?

I am not too sure if it is slipping or just adjusted wrong. What is the sign of slipping? My clutch engages either hard or not. I don't like to burn the clutch to avoid a hard engagement.

Ok I tried adjusting the clutch and there was no positive change. I am thinking that maybe the gas pedal is sticking causing me to mash the gas... Anyone else seen this problem?

I have the same exact car. The clutch engages when the pedal is way up. I just bought the car and didn't know if the clutch is going or not, or if it was recently replaced. My 91 sedan 5sp, which I replaced the clutch 30,000 miles ago engages w/pedal lower.

I had a friend over and he said that he played with the tranny and he can't get the engagement point to lower . Also my gas pedal seems to stick but I am not sure what to look for or where to see what I can lube or replace. Any ideas?
