Clutch Engagement Issue
Hi,
I bought a XT-SS clutch kit for my 92 Acura Integra RS approximately three years ago. The peddle pressure has always been extremely heavy. I always assumed this was due to the heavy pressure plate. Recently the clutch refused to engage no matter how tightly the cable was adjusted. I looked at the linkage system and realized that the lever is almost already through its entire stroke before the peddle was depressed.
I am trying to figure out if the pressure plate is to blame for this. Is it possible to get measurements of the distance the contact part of the splines should be from the edge of the pressure plate contact surface? Does anyone have a stock pressure plate the could measure for this dimension? I looked in my factory service manual, but all it contained was a tolerance based on a tool that I do not own.
I have emailed ACT about the problem, but I was wondering if anyone on here knew or could find that measurement. I am trying to determine if the clutch is to blame for my problem. I do not want to buy a new set up and find it was the flywheel or the linkage that was to blame. Thank you.

Nobody has a stock pressure plate lying around that they can get me a measurement real quick? All I need is a measurement of the distance between the tip of the splines and the mating surface or the edge of the pressure plate itself. Also could someone measure a disc?
I took some measurements and the used disc I have is .3 in thick. The distance between the splines and the edge of the pressure plate, ie laying the pressure plate down on something flat and mearsuring the distance between the flat surface and the height of the splines, is 1.85 in. Can anyone confirm these measurements? I want to make sure its a problem with the pressure plate I have and no the linkage, thank you.

I thought maybe your clutch cable just stretched or something. I also thought that the pressure plates were the same, just the spline count on the clutch disk was different between yours and the earlier model.
You are right they are all the same size. I saw that the part number was H015x quickly looked it up and found it was the 90-91 part number, I thought the 92-93 part number was H025x, but H015x is just the old part number for all 90-01 integras. So again I don't know why it fits.
I know it's not the cable, that is what I originally so I replaced it with the stock part from the Acura dealer. Thats when I realized the lever was almost touching the tranny before the pedal even moved. None of the linkage looks bent, but I want to make sure it's is the clutch before I buy a new one.
I still could use those measurements, if someone has them that would be awsome.

If you turned your adjustment to far to the right, nothing will touch my friend, causing you to have a extremely tight pedal. Try turning it to the left and loosening the cable up, maybe this will help the pedal pressure, try it.
