Want to hear some suggestions for my REX.
I have a 1989 Honda CRX DX. I got the car for free as it had a really bad blown head gasket. Put a japan direct motor in it (D15B) and new radiator, did timing components while it was out, etc. After replacing the usual parts that wear out (control arm, etc.) the only things I have done to it mechanically is switching it fom an auto to a manual (doing it tomorrow), switching DPFI to MPFI (next weekend), exhaust from the header back, and an intake. Also a higher output fuel pump, not that it adds anything really, the old one was dying and same price for higher output fuel pump.
What I would to to hear is suggestions to get the car around 130 horsepower to the wheels. I think that would be a pretty good stopping point. I don't know exactly how much the car has now (if someone could guess that would be nice). I want the car to remain n/a, so any suggestions would be great. I'm getting close to being done mechanically with the car but would like to give it a bit more umph!!

d15b has like 130 or 135 hp at the flywheel stock so if you already are going to do a full exhaust and intake , upgrade the ignition system and possibly have the ecu chipped for a little more power. A lightweight flywheel will help to get more of that power down a little better. Those few things ought to bring you into to power output range you want.
mr. john has a d15b vtec bone stock untunned with a set of itb's that SleepstR88
and lilblackhatch91 have probaly seen but he had 131 whp
just a thought

As far as I know I do not have the Vtec version. "PM3-13" is stamped on the head and from what I understand that is the D16A6 head. I looked up the JDM specs and it has 105 ps (103.56 hp) with the dual carb set-up from Japan.
So does ignition help a good amount, meaning is it worth the money? I would really like to help out the low-range speed. It's still an automatic right now and I think that's what is killing a lot of the speed. Tomorrow it will be a 5-speed.
Right now it does 0-60 in about 9.8 secs, which might not sound to good but you have to remember it DPFI with an auto. I'm hoping for major improvements after these two conversions.
I could always try a mini-me swap but I don't know how reliable those are for daily drivers or how much you have to tune them.
