Replacing the Door Handle and/or Handle Mechanism
I broke the actual plastic handle off my door (The part you lift when opening the door). Do i have to buy a whole new door, whole mechanism or just the handle? Thanks!
You can just purchase the handle, and if it's not damaged, you can reuse the lock cylinder. Keep the window rolled up and remove your door panel. Take a look inside there, and it's pretty self explanatory on how to remove the door handle piece. You may need some C-clip pliers to get at the cylinder.
Is the lock cylinder interchangable. Say i want to put my lock cylinder into a new door handle. That should work fine correct? I dont see a reason why it wouldnt.
Yes you can. You need some C-clip pliers to remove the locking cylinder (or some small hands, some small tools and lots of patience). You should be able to put that into any Honda handle (as long as it fits for that model).
Search for rear sedan doors, i did a DIY on how to install rear door handles to the front.
Which im sure can help you out. You can order some new handles through the dealership even same color and everything. takes about 25 minutes to install each one.
