Plans for a 1990 DA
hi, i just purchase a 1990 integra automatic(i hate it!) and wondering what i should do with it. I was thinking about getting suspension, sound system, and maybe some mods on the car. i'm 16 going highschool and money hard to get. what should i go for?
hey i have a 1990 and i love it 5 speed. you should definetly do a tranny swap and a short shifter after the swap then a high performance clutch and a flywheel, just some of the easy mods will go good for you buddy

jdm one pieces are a must have.
then you can bleach out the pink in your tail lights
take the intake resenator out
drop your car with decent parts
rewire your fogs (everyone does it)
fix or prevent all the leaks (tail lights and floor)
fix your icu (that's going to to)
get beefy grounds (that's going to go)
pretty easy and cheap mods off the top of my head.if your lucky you'll got a good one, where there's no ground or leak problems and your icu is still good. other than that good luck and then go to ebay a type in jdm style

jdm 1 pieces, got em.
stock tails, not mods.
iceman SRI
tokico blues & h&r's
did that, when i got my 1 pieces
did the leaky passenger floor repair on g2ic.com
ICU... what?
stock grounds for now.
awesome luck with your car. these people on here will tell you to get rid of it to get soemthing else, only becuase they have shops build thier **** and arent true DIY'er's so... bite the bullet and dive head first, make srue you do your research though.
unlike most people on HT, I have done the auto - manual swap, its well worth it. innovativemouns.com sells a mount for the swap that doesnt require shimming for alignment, its 145 but, i have it and love it.
shortshifter ******* up the tranny? never heard of it. but i didnt install an ebay on and my **** grinds... it may be true for the cheaper hunks of ****.
good luck. save money, use stock flywheel/stock clutch then when you have money and mods to support a better clutch, get it.

Short shifters don't tear up trannys, tards that don't know how to shift do! The action at the tranny end of the shift rod doesn't change one bit, it is the action at the shifter that changes, so as long as your shifting completely and not trying to quickshift, everything is fine. In other words, don't release the clutch pedal before the next gear is completely engaged.
I have a 5 speed and love it. But my boss has an auto and I like it too. It is great for a 2nd car and fun to cruise around in. But if you want any type of performance in the future, the auto is limited to only so much horsepower, where as the 5 speed can handle pretty much anything you throw at it as long as you have a clutch and pressure plate that match your horse power.
I think I would probably sell it and buy a 5 speed before doing a conversion, but lets say you had alot invested in suspension and paint first, then the conversion would be more appealing. Good luck and have fun with the new teg.

there's no difference in jdm and usdm bumpers. except for the bumper support and the bumper support isn't safe for daily driving.
the icu is a device that controls your intermidiate wipers, rear defog, and front blinkers, sooner or later it'll go out
