Default Tell me what you think (06 R6 Inside)

Well as alot of you know I work for D&D Exhaust and you saw the pics i took in the other thread about what we get to play with at work. Well I need to ask you guys for your input on our design for the 06 R6.

This is our prototype GP Style meg it will be coming in a Ti finish, and possibly black. Because of yamahs design of welding the cat/muffler body to the head pipe (the muffler part you see that stick out the side is hollow, and only has a small valve in it) The meg eliminates the valve and adds a little more tone. Well on to the Pics...

vote and tell me what you guys think.

Chris

What are some of the numbers? I'm not feeling the design. Need's more cuts and welds on the ti like a custom ti exhaust.

I don't really dig the "cone" on the end of the exhaust.

The tip just looks out of place and kinda cheap. I think you got the right idea though. If you could make it look like the GP Yosh pipe with more welds that would be tiiite.

someone email me some good GP style exhaust pics, think most GP exhaust go 4 into 1. So they have those bad *** Fat mid pipes, because of the little 1 3/4" out let on this thing theres not really a way for it to do that and making a 4:1 isn't an option for these bikes because of all the emmisions BS. also this is our prototype so the chrome cap won't be on the final. Thanks for the input tho guys keep it coming.

If you could produce something like this for a reasonable price you would bank. These slip-ons go for about $850

Man if you could arch that pipe like the banana swing arm that would be sick IMO. Like follow the lines of the swingarm. Just an idea, something different.

exactly, thats how every other exhaust company is doing it to, it you wanted it to look stock you might as well leave the stock on there. because that looks like you'd be paying $500 for a badge.

i'll put it this way .. if i had an 06 R6, i would NOT buy it. There are others on the market that look MUCH better then it. Do something different, grab peoples attention.

I'd go more GP style, yours look damn near OEM. Try more of a megaphone style without the ugly cap on it. The cap makes it looks exactly like a Two Brothers pipe. Get more small bends and welds in it, and more of a megaphone style, and it will look more like a GP exhaust.

Not to be rude, but D&D pipes have NEVER impressed me, nor has there been a style that i would buy for my own bike. So do something different, and impress everyone, cause chances are if you dont, everyone will buy a Yosh pipe, or if they have more money they'll look into Arata, Akra, etc. Something i've noticed, but i never see D&D pipes on bike. I think i've only seen 3 out on the road

Just out of curiosity, what do you do for D&D?

This is just my opinion .. so please take it with a grain of salt. There will be people that like it, but it just doesn't do much for me.

Good luck

somethin like that is kinda what i have in mind. But remember, you dont have to follow the same general idea as the other manufacturer, or follow similar lines of the OEM one.

according to your poll ... people aren't really feeling. Best of luck man

i like the look compared to the akrapovic. While the akrapovic is still good looking, it looks more like a conventional style exhaust crammed down into the mid fairing.
This D&D prototype looks more like a Motogp exhaust, and i like the simplicity of it.

well, if he took the cap off, its megaphone look would be more pronounced.
