Default Pics of TypeOne.......

I installed my TypeOne exhaust this weekend, so here are some pics. The only problems I am having is a little rubbing on my LCA and on the gas tank . Do you guys/girls think if I get a Car Sound cat this might fix the problem??? If I just got the exhaust to move up 1/2" to 1" I think this should solve the problem. Let me know what you guys think.....I'm gonna post one pic and you can go to my imagestation gallery to view the rest. Peace.

Sorry bout the pic being sooooo big........I'm just tooo lazy right now. Well i guess not that lazy

Heres the album link: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291937963

Nice and loud!!!! lol.......actually not too bad for N1 style exhaust, its not as loud as the Apexi N1 for damn sure. With the silencer on it sounds almost like stock just a little deeper.

You're muffler seems to be offset to the right by a little bit. I think mine is offset to the left. Is there a way to center it?

You should spray your silencer flat black.

...not bashing you guys at all, but the manufacturer of that exhaust needs to get their **** together on fitment... I would be demanding my money back...

However, if they get the bends right, it seems to be a real nice peice of work...

I think it's more of an install issue than a fitment issue. The quality is

I don't mean to pick on your car but I did notice something else. Mine tip is more tucked under the bumper. I'll take pics of mine for comparison.

It is not good if it is rubbing the gas tank. Hitting the heat shield is one thing, but rubbing the gas tank can be VERY DANGEROUS. Wrapping it won't do it much good, fix the problem ASAP. IF one person is rubbing, may be it is the fitment issue; but if two ppl have problem with, I would say it more of a quality control problem

Mine looks exactly like yours. The first pic shows how tip hardly even comes out from the bumper assembly. The second pic shows how it's ever so slightly offset to the left. I think the pictures make the tip look bigger than it really is since the pics are focused primarily on the muffler. If the pictures are taken with the whole car in the pic, it looks totally different.

on looks
on sound w/silencer

Cpr did u experience the same problems like the piping touching the gas tank or was it just a bad install.

The tip is 90mm which is only a 1/2 inch larger than the stock Type R tip.

When it was initially installed, I had some rubbing of the b-pipe with the b-pipe heatshield. After some adjustment, it was resolved. I'm going to be scrutinzing it this upcoming week and hopefully I'll be dynoing it this weekend. I'll give another review once that's all over.

Yeah, I plan on taking care of the rubbing issue ASAP!! I tried everything to get it to fit better so it's not an install issue(at least I think), I think its more of a quality control problem. Are you guys running a stock cat? It seems if the cat was shorter it would fit....I don't know if this is a result of it being a JDM thing (if the cats are shorter in Japan, doubt it) but I agree don't like the fact it is rubbing on my tank.

If it is an install issue, can anyone tell me how I can reinstall to get a better fit?? I mean went back and loosened all the bolts and it still wouldn't budge one bit..........any help would definately be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!! TIA

I do plan on painting the silencer flat black......any tips, or just spray away?

Are you all running on Type-One B-pipes?

Just got mine put in but the b-pipe is in back order so I am using my present B-pipe (from a Tanabe G-power Medallion). I am also running a test pipe... the B-pipe I have seems to be too short for the Type-one so my tip lies a lil under the bumper and I am already seeing my bumper melt in front of my eyes. Mine is very loud and it has a BAAAAAA sound when I put the silencer on. I don't hear it anywhere near stock.... Maybe it's my b-pipe, but hopefully I could get it in soon....

Does yours actually sound like stock? or is that just idle?

I don't think it have anything to do with the b-pipe. I bet even with the Type One b-pipe, you will still have the same sound. It is not like your Tanabe G-power Medallion has a bad b-pipe. Are you running a cat or test pipe? May be it is just that everyone have difference taste on what sound good and what is quiet like stock.
