I have a set of 16' rims. What size tires should I get?

205-50-16 or 205-45-16?

Helps if you tell us your make, model, year, and package of car it's going on. Also the width of the rim and the offset wouldn't hurt either.

Your car came stock with 195/55-15. 205/45-16 is the best 16" size. Only 0.8% smaller. Your speedometer, odometer, and acceleration should not be noticibly affected.

Do you need assistance in selecting the best rubber for your needs?

The Pilot Exalto A/S is a decent all-season tire, but it's a lot more expensive than similar tires. Do you really need an all-season tire? Do you plan to drive on snow and in frigid cold as well as use the same tire in warmer weather? If so, then yes, all-seasons are good. The Kumho Ecsta ASX and the Pirelli PZero Nero M+S are excellent all-season tires and less expensive than the Michelin.

If you don't plan to drive on snow or in frigid cold, then you can get summer tires. The Kumho Ecsta SPT is an excellent tire, very good dry traction, excellent in rain, long lasting, and bargain-priced at $74. If you are willing to spend more for even better performance, then get the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, around $130 or so.

Thanks for the info NSX

Well i was looking into those Pilot Exalto A/S since they have a long tread wear.

So if you could point me to what kind of tires that has long tread wear. That would be appreciated.

I looked at it this way.. cheap tires, less tread wear and might as well go higher. That was my thoughts are.

If you are looking at the NTQG tread wear rating system...DON'T. It is not uselul when comparing different brands or even different models in some cases.

neri is correct. Treadwear ratings are not always accurate. And if you're not going to be driving on snow or ice, you'll get a whole lot better performance, both on dry pavement and in rain, from even an inexpensive summer tire like the Kumho Ecsta SPT, which is still pretty long lasting (treadwear 340).

I don't understand how you're looking at the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. Aside from the fact that it's not a very good all-season tire, it doesn't come in the 205/45-16 size that your car uses for 16" wheels.
