a little black thing looks like a thick washer. actually looks very close to those black thing are on the valve cover where the bolts go on.
anyways i found it right when i opened the valve cover i looked closely at the head and saw that one of the holes on the far left side was covered by this so i took it out!! first i thought it might be a magnet but it ain't. anyways anyone know wut it is??????

Looks like one of the lil rubber washers for the valve cover. Its common they fall in the top of the valve train area, seeing as hours theres a few of the mon there and its all inn the same place.

 

Ya looks like a valve cover gromment.... wonder how it got in there

 

i have all the grommets though! unless the last owner had dropped one in there? couldn't be the sparkplug grommets at the bottom?

 

THATS CALLED AN ORPHIS IT GOES @ THE TOP OF THE HEAD ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE...ITS FOR OIL OR SOME ****...

its got metal on it, looks like the washer that holds the valve cover on :-P

It definately looks like a bolt grommet for the V/C, Just take it out and be glad it didn't migrate it's way into the valvetrain. Someone probably left it there during a previous valve cover removal.

 

definitely DO NOT put it back inside. its a washer/gromit that goes on the outside of the valve cover, to ensure it holds in place and it doesnt leak. Just keep it as a spare . losing those is ez
