Default JDM ITR non-hid and hid black housing headlights... whats the difference?

i am going to buy a JDM ITR front end with black housing headlights and they told me its the non-HID version. what does that mean? the black housing headlights use a different bulb socket? does it also LOOK different from an HID headlight? i am just going to get aftermarket HID anyway but i want to know if the non-hid headlight's appearance is different from the HID version.

let me know.
thanks.

the non hid has a few lines going through, in front of the headlight on the lens. the HID doesnt.

If you can get the HID version I would highly suggest it. Aftermarket HID in the non-HID headlights will look like butt compared to the factory HID headlights.

i've been told the HID versions are hard to come by now. even just black housing are hard to come by now. so looks like i will have to do aftermarket HID on non-HID headlights.

with retrofit, you can have a LHD light pattern which won't blind oncoming traffic. With my jdm hid, I had to aim the light lower.
