I just got a fix it ticket for my 1990 crx si. 1st through 4th the reverse light doesn't turn on until 5th gear, then the reverse light turns on... what's wrong with it??? help!!

 

This is like the time my friend bought the wrong brake switch for his '83 BMW. The brakes would turn off when you pushed the pedal and turn on when you let it go. Hehe.

 

so that might be the problem, the back-up sensor???

 

This may not help, but that is one of the funniest/ oddest things i have ever heard.

There's only one thing that I can think of off the top of my head, and that is the reverse sensor is wired backwards. I'm thinking its related like that because 5th/reverse are ove there on the same side. This is just me thinking here and I am probably totally wrong, but it is something to think about.

 

thanks for trying though... i just unplugged the reverse light sensor... hehe so no reverse lights when i reverse... lol but what should i say to the peace offficer when i get my fix it ticket signed??? do you think that the peace officer is going to ask about the reverse lights??? he's gonna be like, o.k it doesn't turn on anymore but can you reverse for me??? lol would he ask that question??

plug it back in and don't put it in 5th when you go to get it signed off!
