WTB Spoon Battery
My battery is beginning to corode and I am looking to get a spoon battery. My attitude is when a stock part goes bad, go out and buy lightweight aftermarket upgrades. Any suggestions.

dont waste your money with spoon battery, you guys from US has a good lightweight battery product too. Brand is Oddessy(very popular in Australia). 500amp only weight 5.4kg vs 6.2kg of Spoon and they are dry cell as well. I will send you a picture if you are interested.

Stick with the OEM battery. I've looked into this before when mine went. The stock battery weighs about 28 lbs if memory serves. You won't save much weight with the spoon, it costs more, and doesn't have as high a charge.
I can get any Jspec batteries including Yuasa batteries which weigh 12lbs
or Varley RedTop batteries which weigh 10lbs and are gel-cell sealed battery and can mounted in any postion and reg. used in Formula and Sports cars in Europe.

My ITR battery only last 2 yrs. and after awhile it developed D cell going bad in it that was all she wrote. Just put in another battery cost to me because warranty wouldn't cover it was around 150 bucks from the dealership plus labor of installing and environment costs.
Get the Oddessey, or a Miata battery. The Miata batteries are also sealed, and cost a fraction of the ridiculous Spoon price. You can get them from Todd Reid on this board, or from http://www.westcobattery.com/pages/products.asp?id=11
I have no idea why Spoon charges so much for their product considering there is nothing special about it.

I was thinking of getting a light weight battery when the battery die on me this past winter, but ppl told me that those light weight battery may not work in the winter. So I just goto Walmart and get the stock replacement battery for $70CDN. Weight the same as the stock one with much more cold cranking amp!!
I believe if I was going to get battery it be GV redtop as it weighs the less and has all the power for what I need. Plus, they been used in Formula and sport car racing to win.
should just contact them and ask them for the full spec including dimension and weight, then choose from there, I would suggest you somewhere between 600-700A will be more than enuff.
