well today after the races i was on my way home and a buddy pulls up next to me and wants to race so im like what the hell. so we slow down to about 55 and start going at it. well i hung with him till 5th then he left me. i drive an integra ls short shifter, intake, wire, and plugs thats it. my freind drive 93 civic dx intake exhaust. i mean is this normal to lose?

 

if it was a single cam dx u should have won

 

ya thats wat i dont get i mean i just had the motor re done new pistons rods oil pump did the timing myself but i dont get why i lost i mean i was close to winning but he pulled on me in 5th

 

in a ls redlining 4th gear is about 110-115 mph. LS's are not known for there "top end" on the other hand neither is a civic. i am not sure of the 93 dx gear ratios but in my sisters 98 hx she had 3rd gear toped out at 110. if it is the same, maybe while you were shifting into 5th gear, he was shifting into 4th gear.

nah i triple checked everything i mean the cars feels the same but i dont have any top end in 5th guess its just the ratios or some ****. we racing again from a stop tomorrow so we see how i do on that.

I understood you.

I think you should have won but I dont know. I also have a GS-R. I redline 3rd around 110MPH. I dont know what 4th redlines at. Sorry I couldnt be more help.

are u sure ur gsr redline 3rd at 110? Is ur gsr stock? I had 3 gsr's and all three of them redline at 92ish. 4th gear redlines at 120ish

If i recall.....i pulled 4th gear at the track with a traped speed of 92-94 around that range....so i figure 3rd should be around 90-91.....if his 3rd is at 110...its probaly a LS tranny...

 

you said you did your timing yourself, maybe you just need to go get your motor tuned..

what did you run at the track?
what did your friends civic run at the track?

integra owns civic, you should have won.

lol you got pwned. i have a pretty much stock LS and i beat those civics and for some reason i beat those old school preludes that are like 190 hp ? hehe. wierd. must be gear ratios or it was an auto. but i beat 2 so far hehe. those preludes must suck. then i barely lost to one of those newer preludes that i thought were like 210 hp.?

 

My gsr redlines at 80 in 3rd ...
but I just have the gsr trans on my ls
