i have a 1991 cx i picked up a cluster from the salvage yard , so i can have a tach, i plugged it in but the tach did not work the wire colors are diffrent from the 89 where the cluster came out off. does anyone ahve a wire diagram for me?

Just so you know, your cover will not fit ontop of that cluster. Well it will, but it sure won't look right with a huge gap.

 

i aint too worried bout the gap, need to know wires?

 

If you can, go back to the yard where you got the cluster and cut off the plugs thaqt go into the cluster. Also get the cover for the cluster and plugs going to the switches on the cover. Make sure you got the 2 metal brackeys that hold the cluster to the dash. If you can get these things, Just splice these wiresa to your harness, colors should match up.

The colors should be the same , just in different locations -compare the wire colors from the doner car to yours. If you come up with some unmatched wire colors let me know and I will try to help. Everyone wants to say it is all plug and play but it is not. All I can say is that I have a 91 hatch and an 89 CRX and the wire colors are the same, just i different locations. I have also discovered that wiring for the same year may be a little different but everyone seems to think this isn't possible. As far as I can determine there are 2 different cluster manufacturers and the wiring is a little different for each. I' m in the process of installing a cluster in my 89 CRX , let me know if I can help.
