Default Would you sell your S for this? (Seriously)

Well, I dropped my car off at the body shop today to get my J's half lip installed and painted and to paint the bases of my Craftsquares. My friend knowing that I did not have a car loaned me his Evo till I get my car back.

He just happened to tell me that is was also for sale. It's an 04 with 8,000 miles almost, and it has an uppipe, downpipe, boost controller, stage 3 ACT clutch and flywheel, all for $20k. I figure if I sell my car, I can cover the cost of the Evo. Then sell my parts, and have plenty of money to mod the Evo and have lots of fun.I'm really serioous guys. The car is a lot of fun. Let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks for the help.

no...

and the reason i say no, is because it is a modified turbo car......

having an up pipe, downpipe etc on it pretty much guarantees that it has been beat on.......

now, i am not saying that it has not been takin' care of, but if i were to buy one of these, it would be brand new.....

especially with all the warranty horror stories out there......

and, yes the same thing can be said about buying a s2000, but is not a turbo car, that, i would say takes more care than does a naturally aspirated..... having owned 2 DSM's

also, seems cheap.... what is wrong with it? ( maybe that is friend price)

i realize that it is your friends car, but do you really know how well he has taken care of it....

and what happens if it blows up the day after you buy it....... and it blows up?

is that the end of the friendship?

just my .02

The guy i'm buying it from, I know very well. Hence the reason he loaned to me. It has not been beat on by all means. He bought it new in 04, then got married and had a kid, then stored it in the garage. The feel of full boost at 2,800 or so RPm's is just sick. I'm really liking it a lot and for that price, how can you go wrong? I've been through SOOOOO much with the S though. I'm truly torn right now in what to do.

p.s. I'd run dat evo on any track.

Guys, it's no joke. This thing is pretty damn fast. I love the S by all means, but this thing is wow. I don't know much about Evos to be honest with you. But the boost is at 19 and it feels so good with such minimal mods.

would never drive a evo or sti...the level of "perceived class" isn't as high. not that i'm trying to drive a rich mans car or anything, but i hate being look at as another kid in a kids car. or for some older guys...an old as man, in a kids car

DO IT! i mean the S is hellla sick and all but c'mon now.. Between the AWD, TURBO and esspecially the PRICE! c'mon its a no brainer.. Plus you could always buy another S for cheaper later down the road. Or if ur tired of the Evo selll it for what you bought it for or maybe more and pick up another S..

S's are a dime a dozen to pick up soo its not too bad... But yeah.

oh yeah, also...i hate AWD. driving a S quick is more challenging than driving a evo/sti at the same speed. i like things that actually involve skill

i wouldn't say it doesn't take skill to drive an AWD....

but i'd stay with an S. I've sat in many evo's and it just doesnt feel comfy enough for me. Little too cheap feel for the interior for the price IMO.

but for 20k sounds like a good deal. don't think you could lose any way you go

If I got a letter from Mitsu saying that they will not void my warranty AND that any warranty issues will be covered w/ no questions asked, instead of going through a homicide interrogation, I'd consider it.

Warranty and reliability issues aside, I think they're excellent cars.

Dude, you gotta grab that EVO. If you dont ill drive my ITR or my boosted civic down from canada and bitch slap some sence into ya. We dont get those cars down here and for the price and condition you cant go wrong. Im even gonna be co-driving an S2000 track car this year for SOLO and i still say go EVO. Be prepared for a lil more maintenence and higher ownership costs, but also be prepared to kick *** all year round and just cause general AWD mayham. Man its Rally proven, Nuff said.

DOOOOOOO IT!

Yeah, ur right...i'm not exactly saying a 4 year old could drive the car. but i'm just sayin, someone with my exact same driving skill would probably beat me in that car vs my s2000 on any given track. even though a good driver could more than wallop on a evo. I'm not gonna lie, i've messed around in my friends STi, and at the limit, its easier and more "comfortable" than the S...but i think thats why i love the S so much. That seat of your pants, go-kart feel.

By the way, i hate 350z. Every time i ride in my brothers, it makes me sick...
