Default crx quarter mile time

My friend ran his crx si yesterday on the gtec yesterday and he pulled a 15.6 in the quarter with a 0-60 of 7.1. All he has is a AEM short ram, dc header and a brospeed cat back. Do you guys think this is acurate just find it hard to belive thta it would run that fast.

my friend ran a 15.4 with a 89 crx si, with no air filter and a gutted cat and kumho tires. not bad. then he had the brilliant idea of putting a 150 shot of nitrous on it and the motor was toast soon after.

my stock 88 rex si (completely stock) with both seats and spare tire IN CAR ran a 17.00. But then again, since I suck at drag racing I stick to the circuit track.

reaction time doesnt make a difference on the 1/4 mile time.
You can sit there for 30 minutes as a reaction time and you would still get the same 1/4 mile time as the guy that launched a .500 r/t

D16a6 all motor 13.6 on stock block, stock clutch.

the car is in full street trim with the stock 89 si wheels half the tread left on the tires, AEM cold air, dc header, brospeed ex and a centerforce clutch dual friction. The engine has about 133,000 miles on it if that make that much of a difference. I just find it hard to beleive that it ran that .

Only in actual bracket racing does the RT count. Time trials it means absolutely nothing...Just there for you to get practice so you can get the best time during bracket racing.

my 89' rex si ran a 16.1, but I had header, exhaust that was too large, adn stripped interior. I think it was capable of 15.9's, but it blew up before I could find out...

Your elevation and colder air tempature could have played a substantial role?
Just a thought,

I watched a CRX Si pull a 15.6 on me w/ hoosier slicks last weekend at LVMS... checked under the hood, no vtec solenoid and no NOS solenoid, fully gutted and had about 15 psi in the tires. Not a bad driver, cool night....

oh yeah, he pulled a 1.2-ish reaction to my .542 so that car had to be faster than a 15.6.

Could be the track. Whenever I run in Cinci Ohio I run about 3-4 tenths quicker than I do anywhere else. Whenever I run at a track near the area where I grew up, I run literally about 7 tenths slower (because it goes up hill at the end). All of the tracks claim to be level and are sanctioned. Maybe he's running on a down hill track. There is no other way an almost stock hatch could run 14.7 on a good level track. Maybe with some drag radials or slicks, but not on every day street tires.

When I say up hill, down hill, etc. I certainly mean a very slight grade, not anything you can see by eye.
