what are the differences between 88-89 crx and 90-91 crx's? my friend just bought a 90 crx but the front end looks like a 88-89 bumper because the bumper lights are amber.

 

anybody know?

 

there are many differences, but i guess you just mean body panels? if so, there are a few:

what 90-91 has that 88-89 don't

rear bumper has lip
tail lights have dark strip all around
front corner lights have no screws on the outside
front bumper lights are clear with orange cover
front bumper has fake air ducts under bumper lights

 

well, the taillights do have the dark strip around but the whole front end bumper and driverside fender is off a 88-89, and the corner lights have no screw holes.
what are other ways that you can find out that its a 90-91?

i checked that to and it says it a 90, but i don't understand why it has 89 parts when its never been in a car accident, or been stolen. interior, and motor wise is there a difference?

 

88-89 Gauge cluster cover is squared off....90-91 the gauge cluster cover is rounded.

 

huh? don't quite understand, do you have pictures?

 

he means, that the dome part of the dash that is over your tachometer and speedometer, ........on the 90-91 it has a rounded shape (an arch), and the 88-89 has a more squarish shape, (slightly different), but barely noticeable, maybe the one your friend bought had been in a wreck, and somehow got parts replaced with a 88-89 somehow? who knows
