i am swaping a 2000 b16a3 into a 1997 cx hatchback have the whole clip of car need help wondering whats diffrent what do i have to do which wiring harness to use cause its a obd2a car and obd2b motor and i have the stock p2t ecu and i just wanna kno if anyone has done one of these swaps to let me kno what they had to do!!

 

wht i would do is..go get OBD2B ECU harness out of a wrecking / junk yard, should b cheap upgrade

 

y would i need to do that

 

use the harness from your 97 DX...and get a 96-97 DOHC delsol ecu...should be good then...

 

last i thought the b16a3 was in the obd1 del sol???

 

i was gonna say somethin about that....but i jstu gave up on that kinda stuff...its a b16 and thats all that matters....there is a b16a4...which i didn't even know till i saw it...but w/e...its a B!6 and w/e.....this dude has like 4 threads on wiriing for his 97 DX...weird...

 

bingo. use an ecu from a 96-97 b16 del sol. Your harness will plug in fine. You will just need to run 3 extra plugs; vtec solenoid, vtec oil pressure, and knock. Wire them into the ecu. do NOT switch your entire harness, you may think that you are saving yourself trouble, but it is quite the opposite.
