Does anyone use Redline synthetic Tranny fluid?
I do not reccomend this, I did it on my First tranny and It went to ****, I only use honda MTL, this supposed magic fluid is not specifically designed for Hondas. All this coming from a fan of Redline fluids.

I agree stick with OEM Honda fluids. I used redline fluids in my 91 hatch w/B16 swap. My tranny started grinding while shifting gears after a while.
Works just ducky in my RS, but I've only had it for a few hundred miles. Make sure you get MTL, NOT MT-90! MTL is the proper fluid for a late-model Honda tranny.

). If you read your owner's manual it talks specifically about using GL-4 lube. It's a touch lighter than a GL-5 fluid (such as MT-90 and Mobil 1) and has different friction modifiers for the synchronizers. MTL meets the GL-4 specification.

Thanks everyone for the help. By the way if you haven't noticed the search function is down.
Honda trannies require a lubricant w/ 10w30 properties. Redline MTL is just such a lubricant. MT-90 is for trannies that require 75w90 gear oil, like many Nissan trannies. Evo was right about the tranny needing friction additives for proper synchro operation. Redline MTL also has this. I have not personally tried it yet, but I don't see how it could possibly be detrimental to the tranny.
the search is not down, its just they changed us to a different server in which it doesn't contain old threads just recent.
I have used Redline fluids in my last 5 cars. No problems to report. Just be sure to use the proper lubricant for the proper application. Honda/Acura trannys use Redline MTL. Works great, shifts smoother, supposed to work better than conventional(dino) oils when it gets cold. I give it a
I use it, no problems
Anybody ever think that your tranny starts grinding cause of the abuse it's taken, and not the fluid? I know Civic trannys arent the toughest things out there, and are very well known for grinding from 1st to 2nd. I personally have had two that have done it.
