I've read the Chilton's explaination and searched. I've taken out the two screws under the corner lights, the four screws inside the bumper, and two bolts under the bumper. Everthing is loose except the top center area. It feels like I missed a pair of bolts but I can't find them for the life of me..

The car has some minor damage on the front and the bumper's pushed back about an inch on the passenger side. Could it have gotten the bumper stuck on something? I can't figure this out..

I'm referring to the plastic bumper, btw, not the metal part.

 

bump ill be removing the bumper on my 88 soon and it looks like it got hit or something as well

 

There should be 2 bolts in the grill as well.

 

I've had my bumper off a couple times. It's also an '88 CRX. There is nothing holding it from the top. There are four bolts behing the corner lenses, two 12 mm bolts under the front, and a screw on each end, in the front of the wheel well. If the car had been hit, maybe a piece got wedged under the headlight. It's possible the previous owner tried to repair some damage by puting some extra screws in the top to hold the bumper up. You'll just have to do your best to see what's holding it on, because there are no other factory fasteners other than what I listed above.

 

Well, I figured it out. I had to take the hood latch assembly out...




And then I could get at the two other screws that were holding down the bumper. Apparently nobody else has these...



So 5 bolts and two screws more. I'm thinking wtf are those on there for. The two screws looked OEM, same as the screws under the corners...
