Default New NOPI dragster - Kyle Carter

Advanced Injection Technology / Prologger founder Kyle Carter is entering the sport compact scene.
The crew is working hard to be ready for the first Nopi race in Arizona. It's going to be close.

im gonna take a shot in the dark here but i would guess either a 2jz or rb26, only because they can make hell of hp and its an inline 6 on his race car.

p.s. cant wait for nopi to get here and see all those fast cars. especially this one....... if he does make it that is.

I know of 3-4 that should be in Phoenix, if all goes well with them.

We will have to wait and see.

Is Ara going to shelf the dragster also? I know Chad Davis is pushing to finish his little dragster.

You're talking about the 4.2L right? The 4.3L is a V-6. The 4.2L is similar in design to the lost foam Ecotec's. It's got a little more deck height, but it's still got a thin deck between cylinders. The bore spacing is 103mm. on that engine with a 93mm. bore and 102mm. stroke from the factory. Chevy had a couple N/A engines that were 5.0L and making ~600hp. in off-road racing trim.

They are trying to have that car done and ready for Phoenix.
New driver though. Can't say anymore than that at this time.

The same way a 4 cylinder from a Toyota truck goes into a Scion, the same way a 6 cyl CTS engine goes into a Cavalier, the same way a CRV engine goes into a Civic or Insight. 6 cylinders are allowed.

i'm sorry.... that car looks nothing like a "sport compact"

I do understand what he is saying..... but that chassis looks like it should be running with alcohol blown v8s.

Then you can be the one and only guy at a NDRA event who gets up to get a drink at the concession stand while everyone else is watching some wicked fast cars go down the track. Let's really see if you don't want to see these cars when they are right there in your face.

#1 i wont be at any NDRA events
#2 like i said, if i wanted to see something fast and powerful id go watch the top fuel cars
i said this last year when NDRA announced the class. you cannot duplicate the raw sound/power/craziness of a top fuel dragster. im not saying the class wont make it, i just personally have no interest in watching this class.
if i was in the stands sure id probably watch it, but it still wouldnt excite me like the pro all motor class and the street turbo classes would. ive experienced top fuel cars any import event cannot duplicate it period.

However, maybe I'm alone on this or I'm out to lunch. But anything that'll put more asses in the seats gets a big from me. Having worked with a sanctioning body in the past, I have a bit of an insight to trying tog et people out to watch. More asses in the grandstands = more sponsor $'s.

i agree with you clayton. im going out on a limb and this is my opinion. the guys that are able to build these cars are doing it out of pocket because they have the money. sure sponsors help but we have yet to see a full blown team funded purpose built race car with just sponsors money.
i think the thing thats going to put asses in the stands is the NDRA opening their doors to mustangs and other domestic cars (which i dont want to see either). i dont think these "dragsters" are going to be the draw everyone thinks they will. the "other cars" will be the ones that put asses in the seats due to the huge following of their racers/spectators. this is JMO though.

i'd rather see mustangs side by side with hondas than a 'detuned' dragster.
