ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE CHANGED
- Transmission

THINGS THAT ARE THE SAME
- Axles (As long as you retain your stock hubs)
- Hubs (As long as you retain your stock axles)
- Shift Linkage (Unless you forget to bolt it on all the way and it falls off, it then may be a little shorter and you may want to change it )

THE END
Have a beer, enjoy five speed goodness (not at the same time) and all will be well.

Actually you can use the 4 spd axles as long as you keep the 4 spd hubs..The inner joint on all those axles is all the same,,its the outer thats different..STD/HF being smaller then the rest..

Dr.latino beat me..

^^Corrrrrrect!! im tired of people saying you cant use std axles with an si tranny... just make sure that if your motor is 89 and up that you get a transmission that is also 89-91... 88 has 21 splines on the input shaft while 89-91 have 20 i believe... good luck!!

Well I got sucked up into the urban legend. Always hear people talking about changing hubs/axles. I'll edit out my post! Thanks guys.

-Josh</TD></TR></TABLE> It's something like that, also if you do end up with miss-matched splines there are some creative clutch combinations that will work in your favor

yeah but why go through the hassle if your clutch is good? unless you can get a crazy deal on an '88 transmission and you want a clutch disc to throw at a car when youre driving down the road
