Default Confused about future obd1 conversion. Please look inside

Disclaimer: I build for fuel economy, not power.

Question: It's come to my attention that obd1 vtec cars have a different oil pan than EF non-vtec cars. I am planning on swapping a d15z1 into my 89 sedan sometime next month. I've been looking at my car and I'm beginning to wonder if there will be problems with exhaust piping.

I'm already certain that Ill have to get a new pipe as the catalytic converter is in a different spot, but the plan was to get one pipe from a Civic STD or HF and hope it all fits up. Now I'm wondering if the oil pan will be different and therefore will not fit the piping.

I'm hoping I'm making sense, as it is rather late.

Things to consider: The engine is actually a JDM import, D15B. Yes, there is a Vtec-e D15B. I'm unsure if that will affect the answer, but it might help.

Will there be a problem? Is going to a muffler shop for a new exhaust my only real option?

I say take to the muffler shop. It shouldn't cost that much for the muffler shop to lengthen or shorten your exhaust pipes.

What about the differences between the obd1 and obd0 oil pans?

Good to know. Now the trick will be driving it to the muffler shop without an exhaust attached...
