Trunk issue, need help.
Ever since I got my car back from the bodyshop (rear-ended) there's been something wrong with my trunk. When I use the driver side latch, sometimes the trunk will stay in the open position and won't close, then I'd have to slam the trunk close. For those with coupes, when you pop the trunk open it literally "pops" and is very light and has a "spring-like" system, and you would barely have to close it hard at all. Now mine just pops but it doesn't swing up like normal. Can anyone help me fix this?
make sure that the striker on the trunk lid is making good contact with the latch. the latch should move easily. also there should be adjusters on the trunk lid to adjust the contact with the body
MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK IS LINED UP WITH THE STRIKER AND ALSO CHECK TO SEE IF THEY PUT THE SPRINGS IN THE TRUNK CUASE SOME TIMES WHEN BODYSHOPS CHANGE THE TRUNKS THEY DONT PUT THE SPRINGS IN RIGHT. I WOULD TAKE IT BACK TO THE BODYSHOP AND TELL THEM THAT THE TRUNK DOSENT WORK RIGHT AND YOU WANT THEM TO FIX IT
