strut tower bars wont help ya go faster...a 5 speed conversion would be a good place to start then a dpfi to multi port conversion

pull the head off and shave like 55 thousands. run open header, rev it up and dump in drive. jk. well, if there was a way to make our cars fast with lil money, i think we would all be fast as ****. it all depends on how fast you want to go. but to be honest, theres not alot of options when low on cash. and as far as getting parts. you should try a pick a part if theres one near. maybe thepartstrader.com. and its vtec. not vtech like the phone.. and your sig says ur lookin for a b16-18. thats an engine swap. well good luck anyhow.

Personally I wouldn't buy any of the small stuff. Just save up a little and purchase something worthwhile, like pieces to convert to 5 speed or pieces for the DPFI to MPFI swap.
If you are really determined, I have a great SOHC Airmass header I'll sell you for $60

There seem to be a lot of these threads recently...

Get some NGK plugs, one heat range colder than stock spec
run 89+ octane
advance your ignition timing a couple degrees

Replace your fuel filter if you can't remember the last time it was done.

Run some in-tank fuel cleaner.

Run as light of a weight oil as possible, given oem specs and weather temperature.

You can get a stainless Megan header for around $160 shipped on Ebay.

DIY cold air intake...
Remove the yboot from the bottom of the air filter box, remove the resonator, than duct cold air from the bumper to the intake track. Replacing the air filter is a good idea...even replacng it with a flat panel oem K&N filter.

Did you buy that blue one with the orange painted interior?

As far as auto to 5-spd goes, it is pretty easy except for the pedal assembly. I hear that changing out the pedals is a real bitch. Other than pedals, you need a tranny, clutch, clutch cable, ecu, and all the shifter crap. I think there is a write-up on rywire.com.

o sick u want a vtech head? never heard of vtech b4, i just have vtec, i must suck hard.

1.5L sohc and auto... bad combo friend. its an econobox setup

instead of buyin retardedin things like intake exhaust and spark plugs etc, save just a tad more money and for 1500 bucks gets a u a complete jdm b16a obd0 swap. thats real power for the money.

ditch the sohc and go with a dohc you cant go wrong

^^Yeah, great advice...not really applicable, but good advice.

And its been my experience that a B16 swap costs way more than $1500...even doing your own labor. So don't make it sound like that's all hes going to have to spend.

like was said before....

NGK plugs.
fuel filter.
cap & rotor.
plug wires.
5 speed (si trans) while youre in there, upgrade the clutch and flywheel.
MPFI swap.

you'll be set for a little while... not much money there either.

BTW, how much are you looking to spend? you said, "small amounts of money".

small amounts of money = i have like $100 right now lol but ill be getting like around $300.... and i just dont want to invest a lot of money into a 1.5... so if i get a si tranny and go ahead and get a performance clutch and stuff the b16 or b18 will still work with the same tranny right???

$100 bucks?

NGK plugs.
fuel filter.
plug wires.

there ya go..... (if youre lucky)

GO WITH OEM HONDA!!!!

no a D series transmission will not work with a B series motor. (unless you buy the bisimoto adapter plate )

honestly.... if youre not gonna do anything significant to this car..... leave it stock.

dont **** it up for the next owner.

Best advice

Do a good tune up so your mpg stays nice and high and save every penny you have for the next few months and get your self a JDM D15B 130hp for about 600 bucks shipped.

Dont waste your time or money on little **** like a MPFI, intakes ,header ect ect these will not make you go faster (nothing you would notice or get used to in less than a week.) Its really not worth doing anthing to an AUTO DPFI.

Hit up a junk yard and pull the clutch pedal assm.

dont listen to the b series bitches... stay with the d series

first off, a tune up will be your best investment right now:
ngk plugs-$10
fuel filter-$10
plug wires-$30
cap-$5
rotor-$5
oil change(i ran 0w-40 for a while without any problems)-$35
run some seafoam through there-$5
clean out your air filter-FREE
remove butterfly valve-FREE

if you want a lot of power without too much money then i would suggest going with an si tranny, mpfi swap and then a homemade turbo setup ... youll have a low 14- high 13 sec. car for sure if you do it right... good luck!!

just save up your money for a tranny swap. that will make your car not faster but better to drive because u can switch gears whenever u want unline automatics. well unless u do that stupid *** automatic car shifting **** from D1 to D4

Actually a tranny swap will make the car faster if the gearing is different which it should be. I had an auto ej6 and got a manual and it was considerablly faster.
