During a NASA show one of the NASA welders welded the foil off of gum wrappers together. He keeps it in his tool box. I have to hunt him down a take a picture of it.

you need to clean the can off... they put a coating on the botton of the can so when its being made it rolls smoothly down the production line... put a soda can under a black light and the lip will glow blue. also, they coat the outside and inside of the can so the drink never touches aluminum.. clean it all off and it will be much easier to weld

I just did it without an inverter machine. old school lincoln sq wave 175. 1/16 filler. and 3/32 tung. 25 cfm flow. 13 amps. It didn't seem that hard.

Didn't want to contaminate any of my wire wheels so i didn't even clean it. Just one swipe of some acetone and that was all.

tell me what you guys think. Would have made it look all pretty with stack of dimes and jazz, but just wanted to see if i could do it. Maybe i will next time,

i just tried it...its tricky...i had trouble holding a steady arc when starting...but after a few tries got it down......i'll try it again next time i get 2 cans and see if i can make it look good....it would be much easier if i had smaller rod, or just fused it

The bottom is easy .Cut two in half and weld them back together. Like a bud can to a coke can. Or something like that
