searched my ass off...Seat help PLEASE
I did a lot of searching...couldn't find many INTELLIGENT answers...and the ones that looked promising gave links to dead sites... So here's my dilemma
I just bought a 90 CRX HF
it has no seats...so i have no rails...
I know that....
A. 88 CRX will not fit
B. 89-91 WILL fit
C. this is a pain in the ***
D. I have Del sol Seats with EG rails...
F. the bolt patterns are WAY fucked up and don't match
So my question is...
If i find some compatible Rails...
a. Do I have to swap pans AND rails...or just rails
B. is this worth my time and effort (i just want seats)
C. what would you do in my case...besides the obvious answer of "buy Si seats" or something like that
D. is there any other truely direct bolt-in seat that is OEM other than 89-91?
if you guys could help me out...i searched a lot and couldn't find a real difinitive answer....Once i get the answers and go ahead and do this...ill take a picture by picture and step by step documentary and post it here as a FAQ so this never has to get asked again...although it will

my friend has eg seats in his '91 ef. they are kinda crooked, but he got the front 2 bolts to bolt in to the stock ef location, the left rear bolt to bolt in the stock bolt hole, and made a small 2 inch bracket out of 1/4inch plate steel to get the rear right bracket to bolt to the stock hole. the passenger side is a mirror image of the driver side.
the seats like i said are kinda crooked, you end up at an angle that directs your vision more towards the speedometer than the center of the dash cluster, but he actually drove it for about a year and a half before i noticed it and pointed it out to him.
cliffs notes: eg seats bolt in with 3 out of 4 bolts, but you need a bracket for the holes in the rear closest to the emergency brake on both sides to make them bolt to 4 spots.

the rails that I have on these del sol seats won't bolt up at all...the reason I think they are different is because the seatbelt is in the door on my car...and probably not in your friends EF
it's about an inch shorter from what i have read

he does have door seatbelts actually. its a 91 dx. i dont know if the del sol seats mounted differently than the rest of the eg's but... here is a kinda shitty pic to show they are in there. ill try to get some pictures up at some point for you of the mount bracket thing he made. its getting some hail damage repaired in that shot.
to get a del sol seat into a civic 88-91. you have to make a bracket to move the outside braket out(side facing door). i made a L bracket out of 14guage steel. it fit fine after i made the rear inner hole bigger.
