Redoing Engine/Chassis wiring
I've decided to redo the engine/chassis wiring of my GSR swapped CRX because the previous owner hacked up all the wiring trying to retrofit the entire GSR harness into the CRX chassis harness. It's run good so far but an electrial short is causing smoke and I have no idea where's its coming from. I figured one of the hundreds of butt connectors has probaly come off. I'm basically gonna put the car back into stock wiring form and properly add on the OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness from rywire to run the GSR motor. So I have an '88 CRX DX and will be swapping the engine/chassis wiring from a donor '88 CRX SI. I'm pulling the wiring from the headlights all the way to the gauge cluster and will also be using the fuse boxes from the SI. The only wiring that I'm not swapping on the DX is the rear wiring which basically controls the fuel pump and rear lighting. When I look at the CRX SI's rear wiring connectors, it is the same as the DX except that there are additional wires on it which I've narrowed down to the rear wiper, rear window sprayer and the sunroof which the DX does not have. Theoretically speaking, when I plug it all in, it should all work properly minus these additional parts. Just want to make sure I'm not missing out on details just in case there are in fact some wires that are switched around that could cause some problems. Let me know if I should watch for anything.
