D16Y7 Aftermaret Ignition (Internal -> External Coil)
I know there is not much horsepower (if any) to be had with an upgraded ignition, so with that said, lets keep this to a technical post.
I have seen a D16y7 with an MSD ignition and external coil. I was wondering if there were any resources to install an aftermarket ignition on these engines? What, on the distributor, is required for this change over? Basically asking about a complete upgrade on the D16y7 ignition system.

Do you want a compleate MSD ingnition?
MSD makes a bunch of different ingnition control units or (boxes) for street use as well as full drag systems. They have blaster coils and street coils. New for 06 they have Compleate Distributers for 1.6L,1.7L,1.8L Honda's.
Wher are located at?
Go to http://www.summitracing.com they have alot of products.
If your looking for a shop to install stuff serch for High Performance Shops in your area.

No, I do all the wrenching on my own vehicle. This is just something I want to take into consideration later down the road. Something similar to swapping to the y8 distributor cap and external coil.
I've seen it done and I'd like to know how to do it. Simple.

dont do the whole msd ignition thing...honda coils can hold a quite a bit of horsepower... and if you feel like replacing the ignitor every couple of months go ahead... its like $170 part
