Default I kill my AEM fpr?

I've had an aem fpr for just over a year with a walbro 255lph hp fuel pump without any problems. I just installed a edelbrock victor x intake manifold and needed to turn the fpr upside down to clear the plenum. A couple days later the diaphram blew out and luckily didn't blow my motor. Did running it upside down kill it? Should I rebuild it with a new diaphram or get another one that I can run upside down with no issues? I want one to mount on the rail because I already have no room in my engine bay as it is. Thanks.

Bump. I posted here because people actually know what they're talking about most of the time and use these parts. Thanks.

Damn I thought this thread had no hope when I wrote it. I just ended up getting a new diaphram and mounting the fpr sideways on the rail with a plate that I made to clear my victor x intake manifold and haven't had any problems since.

did you buy just the replacement diaphram or the whole rebuild kit that comes with the 3 orifices - lemme know as I am in need of a new diaphram and really dont need a whole rebuild kit - and where do you buy it from and what was the turn around time to get it -- sorry for all the questions

Lemme know

Thanx

If you call AEM they will give you a part # for just the diaphragm. You take that part number to any authorized AEM dealer and they can order it.

I went through 3 of them in less than a year...

aem said they dont sell just that part by itself anymore you gotta order the whole rebuild kit - what a crock of **** 15$ for the part I need compared to like 30$ for extra **** I dont need - for good old aem

and where did you get yours from as they say that they have not sold just the diaphram for over a year

I went to a local shop and had it ordered. I haven't rocked an AEM for about 3 years. It's pretty crappy that they're making you buy a whole bunch of stuff you don't need.

I'm going to start rocking an Aeromotive pretty soon.
