Default My Custom 321ss Turbo Manifold Im making, and some other crap.

I have started on the completion of my car again. I am getting it ready for this seasons drag racing. All the electronics are done, the cage and interior is done. Im running a GT42R now and I will be putting up some of the fab pictures as I finish up. It will be ready in the next 5 weeks. Here are some specs on the car:

- Crawford Complete motor
- 1000 CC injectors
- Autronic ECU
- Built Auto Tranny
- GT42R, 60MM wastegate, PWR air/liquid intercooler

Some other crap

Here are some pictures of the turbo manifold I worked on today. Ill have it finished wednesday. Next week ill have the aluminum intake manifold pictures up.

If you guys have any questions, just ask. Sorry I havent been on here posting as much as I used to.

Nick

loooks nice...but seems like you are not putting enough filler. lOoks like you have undercutting.

But I am probably wrong since I dont even weld much at all hahaha

for root passes (in making manifolds), how many amps would you normally set your tig?

depends on thickness of material and the gap that you have...if you have one. But you should backpurge and practice on another piece to find out what amperage gets a nice bead inside as well. I don't remember how much it took for me with 16 gauge 2" butted perfectly..i want to say like 60amps?!?!

is that a rip off hks 60mil? If so, why did you skimp on such an important peice. I've just heard really bad things about ssac and if that wastegate decides not to open up, your fuked.

the wastegates are the one thing they make that do work (along with the bov's)

i've had two customer's 38mm Tial knockoff gates break.also had one of the TurboXS knockoff BOVs break.
you can get real Tial 38mm gates, and various name brand BOVs for so cheap now,it's not worth it to mess around with the knockoff stuff.
it'd be a shame to see that awesome engine setup you have get ruined due to a big 'ole boost spike.
