I got a 92 vx and the electric system is screwed up, when i drive the back up lights turn on and when i put it in reverse the back up lights turn off, also my dash lights doesnt work. I then decided to pull out my 7.5amp fuse from the fuse box for the rear back up lights and it did turn off the back up lights but then nothing on my dash worked. The rpm gauge and the speedometer, gas gauge, and temp gauge didnt work. Could this possibly be a short, i also got a viper alarm system btw.

 

The fuse thing is a actually a not so comonally known trick to stop clockin mileage. I learned this at the track when i blew a fuse and said to myself " I wont need my reverse lights" well after pulling it and noticing that it stopped my cluster i put it back in..

As far as the reverse lights, that sweems liek the swtch has gone bad... you nca just unhook it i believe...or jsut take the bulbs out. its not somethig to pull your hair out over..
