How hard to replace water pump on '91 Civic DX?
It leaks water like a sieve and I suspect the water pump.
Can this be done without removing the engine? It sure looks like a tight fit!
While we're at it, how hard is it to remove the cylinder head to replace the head gasket? I've got the manuals and I've read the procedure, but how hard is it?
252k miles and things are just now starting to fall apart

Dammit. Please, I just want to know how tough it is to replace the water pump. I don't want to do an engine swap just because I have a water leak!
Let's try this again: How hard is it to replace the water pump?

it is not hard just a tight spot and time consuming. just start removing things, valve cover so you can pull timming cover off, motor mount(put a jack under oil pan), remove alt. belt, take wheel off(to get to crank pully), remove crank pully, lossen tensioner, remove timming belt, then you can undo the front motor mount and lower the engine down to get at the water pump easier, then put every thing back together. it is hard to explain and i am sure i left out a few things but that is just about it. get a new honda timing belt too.
Cool. Thanks. I was kindof figuring I'd have to remove that motor mount to get to tilt the engine to get to it... <sigh> Oh well, no rest for the wicked eh?
B4 u take a timing belt out, make sure it's in top dead center, cyl #1 up, cam gear mark up, loose the tensioner, remove timing belt, water pump and If u really want to run that engine again, then buy new timing belt, water pump, crank seal, cam seal. Don't just take timing belt out and u don't know wat r u doing and just put it back. One little mistake and u have to buy new head or B-series.
I'm not kidding!
So, becareful.
