Default 4g4d hood doesnt latch closed?

ok. so in november i put my 4g4d away for the winter. before putting it away, i experienced what i've learned is the common problem that my hood didnt pop open unless someone was pushing down above the latch. NOW, as ipull ut out to start working on it, the hood doesnt CLOSE. you can slam it, it doesnt close completely. if you close it and then push it down, it pops back up. i dont understand, anyone have a fix suggestion??? anyone ever had the issue?

there is 2 bolts on the latch, (you need to have someone help you or your going to be running back and forth to open and close the hood.) loosten the 2 bolts so it moves around but doesnt fall on top of the radiator, keep moving the latch reciever around till the hood closes flush, your prolly gunna have to do it a few times b4 u get it right. do you know why the hood wont close? , did you bend the frame somehow? JEEZzZz i hope not.

Hope this helped.

didnt bend the frame. the problem of the hood not coming open without pushing on it was a common problem with most 88-91 honda's. because of the nature of the problem, i suspect their both related somehow. the hood latches, but it doesnt close completely -- it doesnt lock down. it latches enough that you have to engage the latch under the hood to open it, but it doesnt close completely.. it stays in the same position as if i had just pulled the pop inside the car. i have a few ideas now, some local guys had this problem on their rex's, so i'm gonna try some of those. i was just curious if anyone had found a fix for the problem, because i KNOW it was extremely common.
