Default Need some help here (a few questions)

Well, I've decided...my family needs a reliable daily driver/they're planning to buy a new car soon, and I need a beater so...I'm going to sell my hatchback to them (new motor, clutch, timing belt/water pump, new everything). Of course I'll be selling it at a loss, because it's my family. Planning to take the money I get from that to build myself a CRX daily.

Just a few questions (keep in mind I'll be doing all of the work myself):

--> How much should I expect to pay for a clean CRX shell in the Bay Area, CA?

--> What's a realistic price to be paying for a full SOHC swap in CA? I'm talking about everything including Si tranny, new timing belt/water pump, new clutch, etc.

--> Are there any issues that I should be looking out for when purchasing a CRX shell? (Never owned a CRX)

This is going to be a pure budget build with all work being done by myself. I just need something reliable.

Thanks! I'll probably add some more questions here as I'm not as familiar with CRX's as I am with hatchbacks.

Forgot to add, I'll probably have around 4 grand to spend on this project. So paint is out of the question haha. Unless someone in the bay can help me out . --and I just realized...for 4 grand I can buy a swapped CRX haha.
