Think about it....

EBay fees + Paypal Fees + Shipping Charges = ?

<U>Lets say he sells @ $50....</U>
Paypal = $2
Ebay Listing + Final Sale = $1
Shipping Charges = $6 in the US, Priority Mail assumed

Thats about 9 bucks...So for ebay sales, thats about right. On HT, away from all ebay fees, $8.99 is a tad high.

I think the shipping is fair. Assuming he sent it priority mail with insurance and a trackign number

i shipped a wire cover for 1.50........

 

To ship anything via USPS Priority mail it cost a min for $4.60 then depending on the location it can cost up to $6.75 inside the United States. Plus there is delivery confrimation for another $.40 and also insurance is depending on the final sale price. Plus the price of packaging and supplies such as tape, Etc... Also I drive the packages to the post office instead of setting them outside and letting the mail man pick them up, or infact anyone could pick the package up. So complain all you want, but thats the reason the ebay now shows the cost of shipping next to the bid price on the main seach page.
