Default Civic Differences

Is there a list of differences based on year and style change for the civics? I'm interested in the 00/01 and up style civics but what changes occured between 01? and 05? I'm not interested in the 06 at all.

I did search, but I didn't find much of anything....

so I have found (by looking on eBay) that the 01-03 have different style headlights, and gauges than the 04-05. Anything else? It all looks pretty similar other than that.

I'd be looking at the model with power everything... none of that manual **** for me

01 to 05 are the same except for a few exterior changes for 04-05.(bumpers, lights, ect)
MOST motor,suspension,ect are the same.

The 00 and 01 models are two totally different cars. Also, why not interested in the 06? It's so much better than the 7th gen. As for 7th gens, the 04-05's look the best, especially with the HFP kit.

Thanks pon55, that's pretty much what I've come to discover.

eL, I figured out the 00, and 01 are different after a bit of research, after I posted this thread.

I don't want the 06 because they're new, can't get a used one, depreciation<sp> is a bitch, and I just don't like 'em as much as the 04/05's.

I'm not getting this to dress up, make fast, or anything like that, i'll put a stereo in it and leave it stock. I have an 89 Supra Turbo that I do all the fun stuff to I am just looking for something that I can know 100% that I can go out and start on the first try any day of the week for the next 15 years

are there any differences between the 04/05 model?

01-03 has different headlights/tail lights and bumpers
01 has different steering bearings
01 and some 02s have 50 mm struts most of which were bad, some 02s and all 03-05 have supposedly more durable 55mm struts.
01-02 has 14mm front crash bolts, 03+ is 16
02+ has a closing door over the cupholder
03+ has the LED gauges
01-02 has 25.4mm front swaybar, 03+ has 16
The location of the rear spring perches seems to have changed a fair bit, I don't know the pattern.
04+ different steering wheel.
At some point the headrests changed as did the fabric patterns.

Mechanically the cars are the same, thats all I can think of now.

Thanks man! That's what I was l ooking for.

Why do the 03+ have a smaller sway bar though? seems like a backwards step.

if anyone else knows any difference i'd like to hear it.

I sat in a coupe and four door at a dealership today and fit very well so I'm happy about that, I wasn't sure if I would or not, I am 6'8"

Thank you for the input guys.

Smaller front sway bar shifts some of the handling bias rearward. It takes some of the understeer out of the car. It was a step in the right direction, a bigger step is to use the swaybar from the RSX-S.
