b16 head on a b18c1 block, plus couple other questions
ok ive been told by people that a head swap isnt too hard to do, so im deciding to get off my lazy *** and try it out.
b16 heads seem be cheaper then b18c heads, currently i have a b18c with headers, intake, exhaust, mugen ecu, aem cam gears. if i wer to go for a stock b16 head (1st or 2nd gen.. let me know if it would make a difference) would i lose that much power?
the reason for me changing heads is cause the one on my car seems to be dieing, im goin thru oil really quick. after the car is heated up the idle will go as low as 500 - 600 rpms somtimes (usualy around 750) and it makes a clickin sound. wen i rev pased 1500 - 2000 rpms... either the sound goes away.. or i just cant hear it anymore.
im no pro at all on cars, does the clickin have somthing to do with the valves being fucked?? or can my timing effect that?? just a few things i wanna check before i spend the money on a new head

Your compression ratio will drop slightly. Check out this link:

What have you done to the valve train to handle the higher RPM range of the Mugen ECU?
