Are the 205/50/15 Azenis "wider" than other 205/50/15s?
Long sotry short, I had 195's on my car. I went with 205/50/15 Azenis when I bought new tires and due to the extra width its rubbed pretty bad so I raised the car.
Currently Im trying to sell my wheels and tires, and Im curious if I go with different tires, if I can lower the car back down.
I know the Azenis have a thick sidewall, so would a different tire work?
Kind of a dumb post, but just looking for some help before/if I decide on a new tire

They were 195/50/15 Potenza S-03's.
It just seems the Azenis are beefier than other 205/50/15s. Maybe Im just an idiot

That's probably it - the numbers, not the sidewall stiffness. Tires only ever change shape when under hard cornering. The 205 is a larger diameter than the 195, and it sounds like your car is pretty slammed. 205/50/15 is a good size to be able to run if you want high-performance tires, so IMHO it would be a very good idea to make enough room for them.

Right, I know 195 is thinner than 205, but Im wondering if the actual width of the Azenis 205 is wider than another type of 205.

The Azenis is indeed wider than other tires of the same nominal size (205/50-15).
If your car is designed for tires of the same diameter as 195/50-15 (as pre-97 Civic hatchbacks are), then stick with 195/50-15. If you're looking for a tire with great performance in this size, get the Goodyear F1 GS-D3.
The Azenis will be available in 195/50-15 later this year, but it might be bigger than other 195/50-15 tires.

I think part of the problem might be you have an EF. I think that car came stock with 175s, jumping to a 205 might have just been a big too much. Not to mention a bigger diameter didn't help either.
Cheers.

Correct: All three factors can (and, in your case, did) contribute to rubbing: wider tread width than stock, larger outer diameter than stock, and larger tires than others of the same nominal size.
The 205/50-15 Azenis fit fine on Integras and '96-00 Civics that came with 195/55-15 and 185/65-14 stock tire size. Not on older Civics that came with 185/60-14 or 175/70-13.
Incidentally, a lot of ITR drivers will tell you that, because of their oversize nature, 205/50 Azenis perform much better on aftermarket 15x7 wheels than on 15x6 wheels (including stock Honda wheels).

I've run 205/50/15 Azenis tires (RT215's) on my EF, and they would rub in the rear right on hard lefts turns
I'm running Tokico Illumina's set at 5 rear. Those Azenis' have some strong sidewalls, so they won't flex as bad as other tires, which is probably why they rub in the rear. I've been needing a fender roller to fix the problem, but I found that an OEM Si Sway bar will fix the problem just the same!
BTW, I saw your wheels and Azenis for sale, I wanna buy them!
PM sent, and BUMPED your sale thread for other offers for ya.

Its funny because when you first posted that you got the wheels and tires i asked if they rubbed and you were like "nah they dont rub at all"
I knew they would... 205 azenis actually measure 211mm. Which leads to rubbing on efs with +40mm offset wheels

I'm gonna guess your car is too low.....
If you're concerned with performance enough to buy falken azenis tires, then you should probably care enough to have your car at a proper height. Raise it up.
Eh, whatever. Slam that bitch, its mad tight yo!
