I have a AVIC-N2 Navigation unit that plays DVDs, MP3's, etc. If I get a CD changer, will be able to play MP3's? Or will it only play MP3's straight from the unit itself? Thanks.
Depends on the changer. Most of them do. I just installed a Sony xplod that does. You will have to get either a Pioneer changer or a universal fm modulated changer. It's a simple matter of looking at the specs of the changer you choose.

I was thinking about getting this changer...

It doesn't say that it reads MP3 format, but my head unit does. So I question what needs to be able to read the MP3 format; the head unit or the CD changer?

it all depends on the cd changer, like what suspendedhatch said. but you already have mp3 on your car, which is like over 100 songs on a cd.. not enough
. i have a mp3 player too and usually go through my favorite 3 songs before i reach my desination haha

That's true, but what you probably don't know about the AVIC-N2 is that it's a navigation system that uses a DVD disc. If that disc is not in there, the navigation doesn't work.
So it's a real hassle to switch disc everytime you want to use the navigation, play dvds, and mp3's. So I'm planning to just leave the navi DVD disc in there and use a CD changer for music.

Hold out for a DVD changer. Any changer that plays DVDs will play MP3s, and a DVD disk burnt with MP3s will be the equivlant of an Ipod Nano in your trunk. A nano for every disk you have put into the changer. If you were to get the dvd changer, I believe you could put the navi disk in the changer as well. Freeing up your indash slot. I believe Pioneer has a dvd changer now, but if not just wait. Pioneers new gear should be available in a month or so.
