Differenced between D15B2 and D15BZ^(JDM) engines!
Hi everyone!
I ma swapping engines. I got a D15BZ6 V-TECH (92-93). Eng block stampoed D15B.
My questions are, will distributor from D15B2 (old engine) work on new motor w/o connectin? V-TECH plug. Which timing maks should I use when changing timing belt (I got access to ALLDATA). I am getting different settings for different engines, but none of them for D15BZ6!
Any experts in this stuff?
Thanks in advance!
Petr.

it is not a D15BZ6 that you are looking for - the JDM engine is a D15B which is similar (not the same) as US D16Z6 - no, your D15B2 distributor will not work - it doesn't have the sensor required to run the Multi Point Fuel Injection
just an idea but atleast know the engine you want before talking to sales reps. They dont give a rats *** about you. they wanna feed the family and if youre gullible(sp) enough then go get the "d15bz6"
i have the jdm d15b i like it
they are not hard to put in you car there are endless writeups on thsi site to put this motor in you car and get it running
just search and any info on the d16z6 will help you out to they are basicaly the same motor
