Hey I have a 90 integra 4 dr automatic not too much fun and I was wonderringwhat mods I could do for low end because now I have an intake, gutted cat and a straight through exhaust and I can spin my tires in the rain...I was wonderring if somethings wrong or if I dont have neough backpressure...once I hit higher RPMS i can feel it start moving but thats all and I've lost races due to the cars hesitation....help me out btw whats the slickest solution that can be run through the windshield washer system?
I dunno...the auto tranny is a real killer for high-revving cars like Tegs. The gears are way too tall and the shifts are too slow.
Backpressure is not your friend, but if your exhaust is too big you will lose flow velocity, that's why a too-big exhaust is no good. You should need no more than 2.5" diameter exhaust on a largely stock Teg.
The only thing I can think of is a supercharger. Supposedly the Jackson Racing unit fattens your torque band considerably.
edit: minor re-phrasing.

problem = tranny
tires = traction control...
swap to 5spd or get sticker tires...
2ndly..if you want low end power...= more torque...
1. you can wrap your intake....
2. port your intake manifold
3. get bigger throttle body
4. crower intake cam..
adjust your timing on your intake and leave your exhaust @ 0 degrees.

Actually, a gutted cat can cost you power. Think about it: rather than a nice, smooth tube of constant diameter you have this lumpy widening and narrowing one. Generally aftermarket intake and exhaust tubing (of any quality) will be smooth and the diameter is constant. If the tube widens or narrows, it does so gradually. The abrupt widening and narrowing of a gutted cat will often decrease overall flow velocity. You might get slightly better throttle response and more noise. They give the impression of power, but the butt dyno is deceptive at best.
Not the best explanation, I know. Hope it helps anyway.

get a CRV bottom end and bolt that thing right up in there, you'll be all set with more lowend.
easy to do and only about $800.. plus you can sell your stock bottom end to someone doing an LS turbo or LS vtec setup.

my car is 12 years old and has 191,727 miles on it I dont think I can go forced induction of any kind...would dropping a 5 speed be a better plan?
if i were you...i would get a new motor...save up and just get a b16a...or spend a little more and get a GS-R...since you have an auto with so much milage i think you would save money in repairs...and your mods will be much more significant with a new motor that is a manual...hope it helps...and i am selling some chikara 4-2-1 tourques step header which will give you some lower end tourque and lower end power...so if you are interested e-mail me at deparsons@cinci.rr.com...see ya...

It's nearing the end of its life cycle, even unmodified. Save your cash for a B18 swap.

hows about some CRV cams? I'm really looking to rebuild this engine cuz its a good engine just old how hard are cams to install?
the main problem you have is the automatic tranny,the only fast automatic hondas i know of is 92-95 prelude si's,and v6 accords.........everything else i saw was pretty slow.
Get a B20 long block.
Swap your intake manifold on it.
Find an LS cable tranny/clutch.
Put everything together.
Put it in your car.
End of story.

Hm, I don't think I'd continue to mod my engine with that many miles on it.

Really, the best thing you can do is save $$$ for a newer car. Think about it. Everything on your car is old and going to wear out (= $$$ to fix). Putting a new engine in an old, not especially valuble car isn't really worth it, esp. if this is your daily driver, not a track *****.
You've got a sucky automatic, but putting in a 5-speed isn't a panacea. I drove a 5-speed G2 teg for 8 years. There are automatic family sedans, probably most family sedans, that'll suck your doors off even w/ a stick.
Save the money for a newer integra and work from there on mods.
yeah, youre better off gettin a new motor. just take it easy on the one you got. dont spend anymore money on it. the basic boltons you got are coo. i would recommend a 5speed conversion.
Buy a new B18B and boost it. You can even keep the auto tranny, in fact the auto is probably better for turbo anyways. Just upgrade your tranny cooler and torque comverter.
