not a gixxer 750!!!. I also love the style of the 96-99's but thats just gonna be to much for a beginner.

Get a standard bike to learn how to ride, once you know how the bike works you can get a bigger badder bike and be faster than all your friends who tried to learn on their sportbikes.

I think we've went over this like about 3 times.
gsx isnt the best bike for you
its waaay too big, waay too much hp
a lot smaller hp would be better, especially if you are young (dunno how old you are though)
250cc, 400 max
have fun

Second to what!!!!!

They are the best all-rounder in the game and have been since the start. Only the Blundercat came close but for a bike that can tracked, commuted and toured there are few rivals.

Get the big *** bike and put a bunch of restictor **** on it. Like a .005 inch exhaust and an .005 inch intake with a piece of cardboard over the end.

if your just going to base your first bike on looks.....just get a R1, Gixxer 1000, maybe a Hayabusa !!! they all look bad ***. then you can park it in front of you house and pose by it so that everyone thinks you are cool cus you have a cool looking bike.

Honestly, If you want a bike for its looks, get the badest one you can find, then after you've totaled it, (makeing all of our insurance premiums even higher ) you can be ene cooler with the limp (pimp walk) you've just got, thats if you're lucky enought to have not killed yourself.

Anyways, if your gonna get the bike on its looks....get the 96-99 Gixxer 600/750. they've always been my favorite to look at.

Dunt understand our point even after we tell you not to get a big bike?
Well, if your going by looks, and for a first bike, go for a 250cc or 400cc bike.
Its a lot more rare, and costs prob the amount for a 600cc, but it looks really cool, and is good for a starter (even dangerous at times)
Example: NSR250 (REALLY COOL, I HAVE ONE), CBR400RR (i heard there are grey CBR400RR, CBR250RR out there), and a RS250 (aprillia) wich busts out 75hp.

I ask my self the same question everytime I hear these questions. I guess everything they hear about bikes being dangerous , or bikes being the devils creation , and that your just gonna kill yourself on a bike just doesn't mean anything to them.

I'm just about to the point where I just feel like saying, Yeah get the biggest baddest bike you can afford...and let them go from there.

I guess its just another way that nature picks through fit and ....umm....not so fit.

anyways to all you guys who want a "sportbike" check this link out. Has some good words of advise in it.

RAZ.....did you say you had a NSR250? did you register it for the street? I didn't know you could even register grey imports here, especially in CA.

Yaman, the NSR250 is in the process of registering (its actually not mine, but the KSR, also a two stroke, is mine, here in canada). Its a bitch to get it over, but once its there, there are bunch of ways to register it.
Lotsa NSR are in US, and in Cali
check out NSR250.com

My NSR250 (MC18) is back in japan. as well as the TZR250.
ill post some pics of it later

Yeah, i was lucky I had understanding parents, and lived in Japan. It was either bring my KSR (70kg) or bring my NSR (120? kg) over. i went for the KSR since that was my first bike i bought.
Its hard to get it here, but its possible. awwwww... now i wish I brought my NSR instead. hehehe

Ok, here i go, flame on. (it looks like **** now, what u expect for paying $250?)
the rear "helmet" is for my gf who never tandems
the front does not look like this stock, but since the plastic broke (due to track use), its a big *** round light right now. the undercowling never existed (well, its 250 bucks), but i got a set from my friend.

another one is, the first bike i bought. these are the bikes you would want to start off with. small, cheap, good.

You need to realize that you have no experience. I am not trying to make you feel bad, but you first need to learn how to drive a slow *** motorcycle. If you go out and buy anything fast you will 99% drop it and could even harm yourself. Start out with an old 250. Then after 6 months, move on. For the last 13 years I have been riding motrcycles, and I have seen many people do the mistake you are about to do.

Sure, some people, do buy a race rocket as their first motorcycle. Please don't be like those guys I see driving around here.

well i understand the concept of bikes not being toys and that you need to respect the bike and not act foolish or try to show off .and also looks are some important im not going to buy something that i really do not like . and well im sure that you guys have lots of experiences with bikes thats the reason i ask , and besides i really do not spend that much time in the motorcycles forum thats the reason i ask all of the ??? im not saying that im going to go buy an 1100 and learn on that , that would be crazy .but ill look like in to the 500 i thnk 600would be pushing it ..
